Chrome OS in virtual machine. Discussion. I am curious if anyone has managed to get a brunch build of Chrome OS or something similar that would be much closer to the Google Chrome OS experience instead of Chromium/FydeOS/CloudReady working in a virtual machine?
Chrome OS is only available on Chromebooks. But just as the Chrome browser has an open source base, Chromium, Chrome OS is based on Chromium OS. There are various projects that package Chromium OS for end-user use.
Normally I would have used Virtual Box on my Windows laptop, but as I was bored over Xmas I wanted to see if I could run up a couple of VM's on Chrome OS. It was purely about seeing if it could be done, I shared it as I thought others might find it interesting.
