11 sept. 2023 · It means that the Chromebook can’t detect the recovery image on the USB drive or SD card or there’s no Chrome OS installed on the inserted drive. For the first situation, try wiping the USB drive /SD card on the Windows or Mac device and then try the recovery again.

My Chromebook crashed, and while following the steps detailed here, the Chrome OS recovery extension just keeps crashing Chrome, and the USB HDD has nothing on it. Is there a way to manually download the image and put it on the HDD?
What I do to get to recovery is, connect the battery > Boot to recovery > Connect the charger > Disconnect battery > Enable Developer mode > When enabling developer mode, there's a message that it will revert back to secure mode.
2 mai 2023 · You need to format the USB drive using the Chrome Recovery Utility or other such tool (there are tools for other platforms available, you may have to request or search for them through their Discord server). You will also need to select the appropriate model for the recovery image, which appears to be a whole lot more complicated than it should be.
