26 oct. 2017 · In Chromium the words 'Make Default' is greyed out so one cant change the default search engine to Google. A work around is to make your home page google.com . This way, one can just open a new Tab to do Google search.

18 dec. 2020 · You could open the homepages of non-default search engines and start searches from there, but there is an easier option, and it is included in all Chromium-based web browsers including Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Vivaldi, Opera, or Brave.

Also, typing in the search field on the chrome://settings page crashes Thorium 103.0.5054.0 (your provided binary at https://github.com/Alex313031/Thorium-Win/releases/tag/M103.0.5054.0) on Windows 11 Version 21H2 (Build 22000.675). That might not have to do with any of your modifications though.
