So far I've tried mixing the track together into one. Duplicated it into a stereo track where both sides play the same content. Then I go back to vocal removal and it removed everything completely, including the background noise. That is not the effect I'm after.
Your best bet may be to find an instrumental online. That being said, there are online services that use AI to extract stems from songs, but they're in their infancy and the results leave a lot to be desired (generally the audio quality sucks).
