11 iun. 2021 · I have Python on my PATH but when I run the command prompt python --version I got: Python was not found; run without arguments to install from the Microsoft Store, or disable this shortcut from Settings > Manage App Execution Aliases. Any help with Windows would be appreciated...
To confirm it worked, reboot and open cmd prompt. Then run python -V. Now it outputs Python 2.7.11 and running scripts that just rely on the python command appear to be using this version.
Running the shortcut executable with any command-line arguments will return an error code to indicate that Python was not installed. This is to prevent batch files and scripts from opening the Store app when it was probably not intended.
