I don't buy cheap pencils. They will break. They won't sharpen. They will have erasers than just smudge the writing. You get what you pay for. I go with the generic Staples brand No. 2 pencils - they are cheap(er) and still a darn good pencil. In September they are always on sale - I got a bunch of 48pks for like $3-4 each.

I've noticed that some people think that you don't need to have expensive stuff at all, a lot of people just use a #2 pencil and basic paper. Others think that you should get expensive stuff but in small amounts rather then getting a lot of cheap stuff.
