1 mai 2024 · Why is it Called Discord PTB (Public Test Build)? While the regular Discord often gets updated, the developer team needs to test those updates. After the internal testing is done, Discord uses the test builds PTB and Canary to push those updates to a live user base.
26 oct. 2023 · The Short Answer. For most users, Discord PTB is better than Canary for previewing upcoming features with less disruption. PTB undergoes more rigorous testing, reducing the risk of crashes or bugs. It offers the sweet spot between early access and stability.
Discord PTB is a public test build for Discord Testers. Discord PTB is fairly similar to Discord Canary. It has similar features to [[Atwork ]], it also has early features.
The different versions can be categorized as: Stable - The standard version. This usually doesn’t have a lot of bugs and everyone can use it. Beta - Also called public test build (PTB) for Desktop, for iOS it is Testflight, and for Android it is Beta.
PTB gets updates just before they're rolled out to everyone as a sort of early look / final test stage, whereas Canary is essentially a live testing ground, it's not unusual to get many (10+) updates in a day all with small changes that the team are actively working on.
