Even fresh installed chrome, the search bar will be broken after sync. I had to switch to firefox cent browser ...etc. Google search can't find any useful information at all. Even google's own community forum. But I solved it today in an unexpectedly simple way...

Windows 10 search bar not working. Open | Windows. When I click on the search bar nothing pops up and just acts like it wasn't clicked on. This is really annoying as I use the search bar a lot. Looking for fix.
I use GoogleChrome and my search bar recently stopped displaying results as it used to when I hit "enter". I looked on Google's support page and all I could find was information about turning on/off "Google Instant".
10 dec. 2023 · Cortana and search. When I try to open my windows 10 search bar, it stays blank and after about 4 seconds it automatically closes. I have tried restarting WSearch in the services tab of task manager but it doesn’t seem.
I noticed today that my search bar wasn't working for some reason. I decided to troubleshoot the issue, then it says it got the wrong permissions for the Windows-Search- Directories. I have tried searching on this issue, but there isn't much I could find. Best regards!
I actually found the problem by disabling every extension I had one by one to see which one would return the search bar to normal. The culprit ended up being a volume booster. I knew it was an extension since incognito was normal, because the extension wasn’t enabled in incognito
