Open Source and is far more accurate than Adblock/Adblock Plus. Adblock company is also known to let ads sneak by as Google pays them to do so.
If possible, I'd like to block it on both YouTube and Google, but if it works on any one of these, it'd be fine then too. Apparently, a now-unavailable extension called "Video Blocker Extension" could do this on YouTube, but I can't find anything now.
I found a new technique to skip the ads without triggering the adblocker detection by YouTube and packaged it into a Chrome extension. The extension's underlying logic enables it to fast-forward through the ad content to its conclusion.

imo, if that were the case, they could just alter chrome extension store ToS and make adblockers for youtube against guidelines and remove them from the store. there are numerous youtube adblockers still up and running, some even have the "featured" badge in the google store.
I developed a YouTube video ad blocker and for fun, submitted the add-on to the Chrome Store. The next day it was refused due to a minor error in the code. So, I fixed it and wanted to test it before resubmitting.
