Step 1: Check your site permissions in Chrome. Make sure you allow camera access on the site you want to use. You can allow all sites to use your camera, or just the specific site you’re on....
So for a while now I've been testing out OBS virtual camera and it works really well especially with an external webcam through an app (Iriun and DroidCam for the phone) but I stumbled upon an issue where some websites GRAY OUT the option to change the webcam and switches it to something else even though the default camera is OBS Virtual Camera.
I've been trying to use my webcam on Chrome for a while and it did not work. I went to my site settings and allowed for the camera to be used. The problem is that it cannot find a camera for me. It is like my webcam, including the laptop's built in camera, does not exist.
Have got a virtual webcam and it comes up on other applications (e.g. microsoft teams) but it isn't coming up in the chrome camera content section. Works on discord and teams, zoom app as well.
