  4. 31 aug. 2012 · What I at the end found was that for some reason, after a fresh Mint 14 install, Firefox defaulted to be in private browsing mode. After returning Firefox to it's normal mode, the "add 'search engine' reappeared whenever I chose a another on Mints search engine page.
