I randomly get the protonvpn chrome extension asking for user/password. Sometime it seems not to accept but continue to look as though the VPN is active.
22 mar. 2020 · From the past day, I'm getting this new error asking to enter some username and password for the proxy when I'm trying to use a VPN extension inside chrome (Zenmate VPN, SetupVPN) and even do a small google search.
You can sync it to your phone, and every time it detects to fill the stored username and password, it will ask for confirmation from your side. There are extensions on most browsers as well as IOS, plus it has a password generator and can store 2FA on their free version, so it's a nice bonus.
I assume it's the proxy pop-up within the browser itself, and not the extension - such authentication is usually asked if there was a problem connecting, for example, if the connection limit is reached (which is 6 connections at once for the account).
