16 nov. 2009 · I have a couple of options including running individual 14-2 from the sconce locations where i can drill 4" holes and feed the lights from those locations or put a junction box under the house and go from there.
15 iun. 2017 · Pancake box has a capacity of 6.0 CU". One 14-2 requires a minimum 6 cu" capacity. Anything more than that is a violation. 12-2 requires 6.75 cu" capacity, so technically you can not have 12-2 in a pancake box. Just because you have never been called on it it does not mean it is code compliant.

13 ian. 2018 · #1. Got a 4/0 pancake at 5.8 cu in with one 12-2 Romex going into it. If all conductors are counted the wire cu in is 6.75 (2.25x3 conductors). Too much wire for box. I've been told by another electrician that the ground conductor does not get counted, therefore cu in is good.
