All of my browser extensions are off, and I heard that McAfee's secure search could cause the Yahoo redirect virus, so I turned that off and still nothing is working. Idk what else to do. Browser suddenly switched to yahoo within chrome. looked it up and its saying that I got a virus. Checked browser settings, says that McAfee switched my default engine to yahoo through "secure search" I remember seeing a McAfee popup with something abt a secure browser.
How do I remove the Yahoo malware that keeps changing my search engine on Chrome? A while back I downloaded some freeware and accidentally selected the "Yahoo as my default search engine" option. In a panic I closed down the instillation and started again, but the damage was done.

Google keeps switching to Yahoo. EDIT: I fixed it! I just needed to remove all the added sites added to Site Search and Inactive shortcuts under 'Manage search engines and site search' and it seemed to work! I hope this is the right subreddit-. I just got a brand new computer and I've been setting it up slowly.
My default search engine is automatically set to yahoo for some reason, and when I go to Chrome Settings it says; "Google Chrome is your Default Browser" and has absolutely nowhere for me to change it.
